What is Skinbooster ?
Skinbooster is a hyaluronic acid designed exclusively for the skin. This aesthetic medicine treatment restores skin thickness without adding volume. The particles of this gel are very small, which means it hydrates without swelling.

When you should I have a skin booster ? What areas can be treated with a skin booster ?
All areas of the body can be treated, although these injections are most often carried out on the face, neck, décolleté, hands, knees and elbows.
Skin boosters are recommended as soon as the first signs of ageing and sagging skin appear.
There are two possible uses:
♦ As a preventive treatment, from the age of thirty, to avoid or delay the appearance of signs of skin ageing.
♦ As a curative treatment, on skin already showing signs of ageing, to plump and moisturise.
What is the difference between a skinbooster and mesotherapy ?
Mesotherapy is a technique for injecting vitamins, minerals and non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, i.e. hyaluronic acid is not protected from physiological destruction by a stabilisation process called cross-linking.
The result is slight and temporary. The radiance boost is real, but several sessions are needed to maintain it.
Skinbooster is a weakly cross-linked hyaluronic acid. The result lasts longer, six to twelve months, and the skin is firmer and more toned without added volume.
The two treatments can be combined, and this synergistic combination is recommended. Once or twice a year, we recommend a session of skinbooster and mesotherapy on the same day.
Procedure and protocol
There are two types of skin booster: Restylane Vital Ligth and Restylane Vital. I only use the latter, which contains a higher dose of hyaluronic acid.
The product is injected into the deep dermis.
The injection protocol depends on the type of skin:
♦ For young skin: for treatment of the face, two syringes are injected during the first consultation. For treatment of the neck and décolleté, four syringes are required. For maintenance treatment, one to two syringes are used every six months.
♦ For mature skin: for facial treatment, two syringes are injected at the first consultation and renewed two months later. The maintenance protocol, provides for the injection of one to two syringes every six months.
The injections can be given by cannula or needle. I prefer the cannula to reduce the appearance of haematomas and stimulate collagen synthesis.
Results and side effects of skinbooster injections
Results are immediate, but improve within three weeks. It lasts between six and twelve months.
The quality of the skin is visibly improved, and the skin is plumped up without any additional volume. The skin is deeply moisturised, making it the ultimate anti-ageing treatment.
The face (or other treated area) looks brighter and younger, and fine lines are reduced.
All activities can be resumed after the session. Small haematomas and temporary swelling are rare.
